FAQ (noun, pronounced “eff-ay-que”):
A magical list of answers to questions you didn’t know you had but are too polite to ask out loud.
How would you describe your style of photography?
I’d call it high fashion meets modern photojournalism. I love rich, deep colors, but black and white shots that tell a story are my jam too. This is your wedding, and I want to capture the real connection between you and your partner. I’m not a huge fan of stiff, posed shots—but don’t worry, I’ll still grab a few for mom and grandma. I love being a fly on the wall just as much as jumping right onto the dance floor. Plus… I’m pretty darn good at it.
Do you work with an assistant?
Most of my packages include a second photographer—and if yours doesn’t, I highly recommend adding one. I can’t be everywhere at once, and a second photographer ensures no incredible moments get missed.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! Sarah and I love to travel. We offer special rates for destination weddings depending on location. Reach out for details.
Are engagement sessions included in your packages?
Our top two packages include an engagement session, but you can add one to any package a la carte. Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know each other before the big day—so when wedding day rolls around, we can all relax, have fun, and capture amazing photos.
How many photographs will I receive?
I typically deliver about 100 edited images per hour of coverage. The total varies depending on wedding size, venue, details, or cultural traditions. If you skip the second photographer, expect roughly 25% fewer images than a package with two shooters.
How long after our wedding will we receive our images?
We’ll schedule a time to meet about 4 weeks after your wedding to view your photos and choose prints, albums, and other options. Some studios promise 2 weeks—but I’d rather take the time to get it right than rush your images.
Do we have to pay the full balance upfront to book?
Nope! (Unless it’s a last-minute booking.) A 30% retainer secures your date, and the rest is due 30 days before the wedding. We can also break payments into thirds if that’s easier.
Are your prints better than what we could get at Target, Walmart, or Costco?
Absolutely. Think of it this way: I wouldn’t have Salvador Dali paint a masterpiece on a napkin—I want the finest canvas for your art. We print on Fuji Pearl or Kodak Endura Metallic paper, using strict color calibration for perfect vibrancy and sharpness. Consumer lab prints just can’t compete.
Do you mind if guests take photos during the wedding?
Not at all. But cameras and flashes can distract the action (and your photographer). I recommend that guests hold off during the ceremony so we can capture clean, stunning shots. A polite announcement before the ceremony usually does the trick: “The couple asks that no photos be taken during the ceremony so everyone can enjoy the moment. Thank you!”
What if we cancel our wedding?
If I can book another wedding on your date, I’ll refund your deposit. If not… the deposit is non-refundable.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we carry a 7-figure liability insurance policy, which I can provide to any venue that requests it.
What type of cameras and backup equipment do you use?
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III and professional lenses. All photos are captured in RAW for maximum quality and editing flexibility. I bring two backup cameras and personally inspect, clean, and prep all gear before every wedding.
Do you do other types of photography?
Absolutely! I shoot everything from mitzvahs, family portraits, headshots, commercial work, martial arts, and fashion. The only thing I don’t do… newborns. Not yet, anyway.
Finally… why is wedding photography so expensive?
It’s not! People just often see only the 8–10 hours of shooting. But for every hour of shooting, there’s about four hours of editing, plus engagement sessions, meetings, emails, and calls. Weeks after your wedding, while other vendors have moved on, we’re still perfecting your images. That’s where the value lies.
